Belated but I finally found the time outside of regular event work to update cultivation! You can now cultivate all three Winter Seasonal Traits from 2023-2024! Even better, there is no new area you need to unlock this time - just a new type of plot for one of them.

Get Sewing

• Working with cloth needs a new kind of plot in your workshop! You can now purchase a Needle Cushion to unlock a sewing plot.
• You can then use the Plush Patch Pattern from Joyous Toys to create some Plush Patches! (Plushified trait)

Aknaras has an unusual vial for you

This beautiful Vial of Floof will allow you to brew the Potion of Floof (Fluffy trait)! Purchase it at Aknaras' Grotto to use it with your Potion Brewing plot.

Larali offers you cool Seeds

These cooler-than-thou Cool Pepper Seeds will allow you to grow the Cool Pepper (Crystallized trait)! Purchase it at the Greenhouse to use it with your Extraordinary Plants plot.

It's Kitty time

Duration:  April 1st - May 1st, Realm: Loova (but anyone can participate)

They have been overshadowed by the lovabuns for a long time, but did you know that the felis also exist in loova? Once predators of the bunnies, these cats have been infighting for decades, causing their population to be much smaller than that of their fellow species, and mostly restricted to the so-called chaotic Cat Cities! Recently, though, some felis have been trying to get a leg up on the glitch business too, in hopes of gaining some valuable advantages...

Are you curious enough to explore the Cat Cities and confront their inhabitants, the Felis? You might want to stick to the good parts of town, where pretty kitties reside, unless you are looking for a fight - which the brat cats will gladly oblige.

Big cats, small cats

As per usual, you will be able to earn different items relating to these species during this event: the customary MYOs and traits! This time, the MYOs can be earned via event prompts! You can also buy a new felis trait at Freaque Antique. To make prompts easier, Felis to use will be uploaded to the masterlist in the course of the day. The MYOs will also be available for coin starting next month!

Of course, there is also two new awards as well as new theme + background for the true desert experience! The awards are limited to this event and can be earned via prompts, but the background and theme will stay available for coins - for the true cat city feel.

Lost in the Rifts

There have been reports of people getting lost in rifts for many years, and this is not limited to any specific realm. Now, you have the chance to help some of these poor souls - by adopting them for on site currency! 

The rifts is a place where you may somtimes find characters that are for sale for site currency - either coins  or a rift cluster ! They can be claimed by anyone who can pay the adoption fee, the only rule is you cannot claim a character you surrendered or created yourself. There are two ways characters can end up in the rift:

Surrender for Coin

1. You can at any time surrender any character you own to the rifts.
2. This will ask you to name a coin price you'd want for it.
3. Mods will go through surrender requests and decide if the amount of currency you want for the character is feasible. Your request may be rejected if the amount is so high that it is unlikely another member can ever buy it.
4. Once approved, the character is transferred to the admin account and you gain the coins you wanted.
5. Mods can put the character into the adoption center at any time for the coin amount you gained, where other members can purchase it.

Rift MYOs

Rift MYOs are made from special MYO slots specifically for the rifts. When submitting a rift MYO, you agree to the fact that the design may be redesigned/redrawn by staff if it sits for a long time. You will always be credited as one of the designers should that happen.

1. You can purchase a rift MYO once a month from the Reflection's Crossroad.
2. Rift MYOs, once approved, will automatically be transferred to the admin account. This will also automatically grant you 1 rift cluster.
3. Rift MYO Designs can be put into the adoption center at any time for 1 rift cluster, where other members can purchase it.
4. Rift MYO Designs may be redesigned/redrawn by staff if it sits for a long time.

Simplified Reward Calculators

Hello there! Today, something we wanted to look into for a while has finally been tackled. Namely: Simpler reward calculators! The following changes have been made:

• Feral/Companion/Humanoid has been turned into one Drawn Rewards (Character) calculator!
• Instead of just color, we now have colors and finish options for you to pick from! Hopefully this makes it easier to upload different kinds of art and categorize it correctly.
• The art type now acts as a multiplier instead of providing a base coin reward, making it easier to adjust if need be!

More coin for your efforts

The maximum gainable coins have been slightly raised!

• Instead of 55 per character at most, it is now 75 per character.
• Complex backgrounds have also been buffed from 45 to 65 coins.
• The gift bonus per character was buffed from 5 to 10 coins.
• Additionally, written rewards were buffed from 7 to 10 coins per 100 words. 

Finally...

As the game progresses and we get more numbers and a feel for currency, this may not be the last time rewards are adjusted. The goal is to never adjust to less coin gained, which is why we go in slow increases at most and then observe how it goes. It is not feasible to go back and reward coins for all art submitted so far, so we hope you can see the future increased gains as a positive still, and we ask for your understanding. Balancing an ARPG is never easy.

Lastly, in order to give something back to older players, we also have a one time coin gift for you that can be claimed until around 1 month from now.

All updates have also been edited in the Art to coin guide, and all current prompts / galleries with rewards should have the new Drawn Rewards (Character) calculator. If you notice it missing somewhere, please contact us by commenting below or on discord!

Amazing new Trait Ideas

The Tantalizing Traits contest has come to an end, and we were blown away by your entries! Not only were there a lot, there were also A LOT of ideas that fit into Realms Away very nicely. Seriously, I was blown away by the creativity of you guys. This made me think that there might be a round 2 in the very very distant future (hence the title!)

And the winners are...

Without further ado, here are the winners that had at least one of their ideas chosen. You will all receive the trait item of your trait suggestion for free once it gets released on site!

Some explanation...

There was so much good stuff and even more stuff that didn't quite make it, but I would like to explain some of the bigger reasons why some ideas didn't get chosen. A lot of traits were cool, but something that I envision as either a transformation (for example, Wyvern/Wyrm like dragons). Others were really nice ideas, but felt more like a new subtype (especially got many on Nimare for that!). I will keep these in mind for the future as well, and should something be realized, I will also try keep your names in the credits. Yet other cases had things that would already be covered under a seasonal trait (such as plant growth on body parts, or whispy/magical ones). 

In any case, thank you to everyone who entered, we have a lot to plan out for the future now!!

Update on Giga Tail

With the ideas from the trait contest, it was decided to make the Giga Tail trait on Saurians rare rather than extraordinary, as a better extraordinary idea was found. If you have purchased the giga tail with the thought of it becoming unavailable after the event, you can sell it from the inventory for the same amount of shiny stones as it has been bought with. That way you can purchase a MYO instead if you wanted to.
