Intro

Magic and Beasts

Varelia, a land of magic and beasts. It is largely inhabited by Beastlings - a species of shapeshifters that appear in many different forms. They are beings with a deep connection to magic, all with their own features to either store or sense it. Unlike them, Stydians - humans of Stydia, past the seas north to Valeria - are incapable of producing magic without using that of the Beastlings in nefarious ways. This has been a major conflict raging for decades, all parallel to the tensions between Beastlings themselves.

There are whispers of a past where the world was bigger than Varelia, a network of realms all connected by a common dimension: The Reflection. Only select few retain that knowledge and memories, but for a new adventurer, it may be too big of a starting point yet. Or is it?

It is up to you, new adventurer, to leave your mark.

Getting started

Step 1: Collect your starter freebies!

At the Adventurer's Guild, you will find free items to claim that will get you started as an adventurer. The Adventuring Starter Kit, which awards a free MYO slot of any Beastling subtype to get started with, as well as some coins and a random trait item. You can also get up to 5 Gold Coupons, which grant you a 50% discount on items in any of the shops - so choose wisely! And finally, you may want to claim a free Rift Particle from the Reflection's Crossroad, which can be opened and then used to adopt a premade design from the rifts - if one is currently available.

Step 2: who are you?

Option 1: I'm 100% new!

First things first, you'll want a character to draw in plot reltated art prompts, events, and of course to potentially interact with others! It is recommended you begin your journey in Varelia, with a free human or Beastling character. However, if you feel adventurous, many species hide behind the veil - if you enable it in your settings. Have a look around and pick what you like most! People will surely support you in your quest of obtaining other MYOs. As you play the game, you will be able to purchase more slots for different species with coins, site activities or during events.

Option 2: I am a Cylcord Veteran!

Alternatively, you may already own some designs by Cylunny of any of the species here. If you would like to get your existing design added to the site, please send in a claim for a Transcendent Orb (which acts as a MYO slot to upload the character)! Make sure to include the proof of ownership. If it is a Gleamstic or Lopilu design, it may also already be on here, so make sure to check the masterlist first! Of course, you may also claim the above free unlimited MYO slot still.

Step 3: Design time

You can skip this if you already have a design that fits the species. But if not, you should probably open the guide as you design just to double check that what you are doing works for a species! You can find all the species guides here. They include images and descriptions on what features and traits a species needs/can have! If you need help, feel free to ask on discord - we have a specific design check channel!

Step 4: Submitting your character for approval

You are happy with what you came up with? Time to turn your character into reality! Go to your inventory and look for that MYO item. You should be able to activate it. Upon activating, the item turns into a MYO slot. This slot is visible in your MYO slot page. On the page of your slot, navigate to settings > submit MYO design and follow the instructions!

You will be asked to provide a reference image. This image must be a clothed fullbody of your characters design. The only exception to this are humans, as they will be assumed to be human in their fullbody. This artwork of yours will be displayed on the masterlist. Other transformations are available to add at any time later on, so start with the one you are most comfortable with.

Make sure to also enter all the traits correctly as well. Traits should be explained in the design guide of the species, as well as the trait list (which you can handily sort by species!). If you intend to use a trait that does not come with your MYO slot, you must also submit the correct item that unlocks the trait. One of the mods will check your submission and approve or deny the design with precise instructions on what may need fixing. And you're done!

Step 5: Coins, Shops, Events, Items...

The main point of this site is to participate in art and writing prompts and events that further establish some lore about different realms! You will earn rewards by doing so, which means you can buy more items: Be it MYO slots, trait items, backgrounds or companions! The main currency on Realms Away are coins, and you will get almost everything for those. Regardless of what realm your character resides in, no one will refuse the shiny gold. But how do you actually earn it? It's easy! 

• Participate in Events & Prompts! This will yield the biggest amount of coins based on what you draw. Each prompt automatically has a coin reward, but art itself gives coins on top. Just follow the Art to Coin guide!
• Collect your dailies! They drop a random amount of coins or event currency or even items per day.
• Take part in events and contests which often grant more than just regular prompts
• Trade with other players on our discord server
