Intro

Magic and realms

In this world, there is not one realm, but many. The first to discover this were the the bunny people, Lovabuns, after stumbling upon a rift in reality - a mysterious portal that could not be explained by any known means. Brave travellers prepared and braced for an expedition that would end up changing the very view on their world itself. For beyong the rift, there was a  new realm, a place never seen before - bright and empty and confusing. Where strange landmarks form out of nothing just to vanish within minutes, and wandering creatures emerge, some threatening, some friendly. The first explorers counted major losses in their group, but they did manage to return and relay information on this new place. It was henceforth called: The Reflection. 

After many more years of  research and many more travels, it was established that not only Loova, the bunny realm, is connected to the Reflection. Quite the opposite, in fact - no one could tell just how many realms the Reflection connects to! And so, driven by the call of adventure, many courageous souls from different realms decided to embark on their own journey...given they were brave and capable enough. Others grew wary instead of fascinated, sticking with their own kind and defending against whatever the Reflection released upon their home.

Getting started

Step 1: Collect your starter freebies!

At the Reflection's crossroad, you will find three free items to claim that will get you started as an adventurer. The Starter Gift, which awards some coins and a random trait item. The Multicolor Orb, which acts as a MYO slot as will be explained in step 2. And up to 5 Gold Coupons, which grant you a 50% discount on items in any of the shops - so choose wisely!

Step 2: who are you?

Option 1: I'm 100% new!

First things first, you'll want a character to draw in plot reltated art prompts, events, and of course to potentially interact with others! There are many different realms and species to choose from, so it is recommended to read through the species descriptions (and potentially also check out the different realm descriptions). Once you have decided which species you want to start with, you can purchase the free Multicolor Orb from the Reflection's crossroad! This item acts as a MYO slot that allows you to create a character of any currently available species and subtype, allowing you an optimal starting experience! Later on, you will be able to purchase more slots for different species with coins or during events.

Option 2: I am a Cylcord Veteran!

Alternatively, you may already own some designs by Cylunny of any of the species here. If you would like to get your existing design added to the site, please send in a claim for a Transcendent Orb (which acts as a MYO slot to upload the character)! Make sure to include the proof of ownership. If it is a Gleamstic or Lopilu design, it may also already be on here, so make sure to check the masterlist first! Of course, you may also claim the above free unlimited MYO slot still.

Step 3: Design time

You can skip this if you already have a design that fits the species. But if not, you should probably open the guide as you design just to double check that what you are doing works for a species! You can find all the species guides here. They include images and descriptions on what features and traits a species needs/can have! If you need help, feel free to ask on discord - we have a specific design check channel! There are some bases included for coins at the Reflection's Crossroad as well, if it helps.

Step 4: Submitting your character for approval

You are happy with what you came up with? Time to turn your character into reality! Go to your inventory and look for that MYO item. You should be able to activate it. Upon activating, the item turns into a MYO slot. This slot is visible in your MYO slot page. On the page of your slot, navigate to settings > submit MYO design and follow the instructions!

You will be asked to provide a reference image. This image must be a clothed fullbody of your characters design. The only exception to this are humans, as they will be assumed to be human in their fullbody. This artwork of yours will be displayed on the masterlist. Other forms such as feral forms for Lopilu are available to add at any time later on.

Make sure to also enter all the traits correctly as well. Traits should be explained in the design guide of the species, as well as the trait list (which you can handily sort by species!). If you intend to use a trait that does not come with your MYO slot, you must also submit the correct item that unlocks the trait. One of the mods will check your submission and approve or deny the design with precise instructions on what may need fixing. And you're done!

Step 5: Coins, Shops, Events, Items...

The main point of this site is to participate in art and writing prompts and events that further establish some lore about different realms! You will earn rewards by doing so, which means you can buy more items: Be it MYO slots, trait items, backgrounds or companions! The main currency on Realms Away are coins, and you will get almost everything for those. Regardless of what realm your character resides in, no one will refuse the shiny gold. But how do you actually earn it? It's easy! 

• Participate in Events & Prompts! This will yield the biggest amount of coins based on what you draw. Each prompt automatically has a coin reward, but art itself gives coins on top. Just follow the Art to Coin guide!
• Collect your dailies! They drop a random amount of coins or event currency per day.
• Take part in events and contests which often grant more than just regular prompts
• Trade with other players on our discord server
