Welcome to Realms Away!

Within the realms, many creatures and critters fly, swim and run around. If your character is the type for it, you may want to make one- or serveral of them- into your trusted companion! Companions are small critters, or sometimes even objects with a soul, that can be found in any realm and the reflection. They begin their existence in a sleeping form and can be awakened through careful care, or by feeding them elemental energies. Each Companion type comes with a base element that they are attuned to, but by feeding them energies of a different type, some may obtain a second element. For some, these beings are simply pets and friends - but a handful of companions are capable of more than that. These special creatures are often referred to as having artefact powers, which is denoted by a little star. This allows them to share Their elemental magic with someone they have a strong bond with, potentially granting them the alter transformation! You can find companions for purchase in shops or sometimes as prompt rewards.

The base form of all species makes out the majority of life within each realm, but if you are looking to create a character just a bit more extra, you can gather trait items which may grant your character special features! Mayhaps fire sprouts from their body, or they have fully functional mechanical limbs. They might also have been- outwardly - turned into a Zombie. Possibilities are near limitless, so keep an eye out for new traits each season and with events! Trait items are usually up for purchase in shops or sometimes available as prompt rewards.

Some species are capable of shifting between different forms. Dragons, for instance, are known to be capable of turning into humanoid forms. Equos are commonly switching between a taur and humanoid form. But even those who are not inherently shifters may attain a transformation with the help of their companion, with which they can more easily travel between realms and through the reflection. While not all transformations need an item to be used, some special forms are granted only when using an item you can purchase in a shop!

You can use the pairing or glitch mechanics to create MYOs & characters in new, fun ways! You will need to be logged in for these pages, but essentially: Pairings allow you to pair up two characters which will yield a new MYO slot that can inherit species, subtypes and even traits from the 'parents'! Use this to pass on traits you like, or for your own plots as you wish! Glitches are a different beast - they allow you to glitch features of a different species onto any species, but with more limitations than say a crossbreed via pairing would have. With every season, the look of Realms Away changes to match it! But that is not all - different strokes for different folks, and we like the idea of giving users many options to customize their site experience. As such, you can purchase and unlock additional site themes with on-site currency. Some of them are seasonal, while others are event based and limited. There is also a stock of always available themes for you to save up for - find them at EveCubes!
