Glitches

The reflection is a fragile place where many mysterious phenomenas occur. One such occurence is that of glitches, which was first discovered and popularized by the earlier Lovabun Adventurers. When entering the reflection or coming into contact with its magic, sometimes, the features of a different species may glitch onto a person, altering their appearance permanently. While first treated as an accident, Lovabuns have since made it feasible to do in a controlled manner - all you need is a glitch, which can be created from reflection slivers...

Glitches?!

Glitches are a mechanic that allows you to glitch specific features of one species onto another without needing to breed for crossbreeds! Other than crossbreeds, however, a glitch will not replace an existing species feature with another. Glitches only add on top of the creature they affect. For example, this means a lovabun will always keep their ears and tail shape, but may have angel wings or feathers added to them.

Additionally, glitches allow you to roll MYOs with new traits for their respective species by adding on MYO items of the same rarity. So if you intended to make a Lovabun but do not have the lop herb trait, you could use the Lovabun MYO with any uncommon trait item to create a glitch myo of a lovabun with a random uncommon trait (in this case, lop ears, as it is the only one available!)

Getting Glitch items

For creating a glitch, you will need glitch items! Here's all of them and how to obtain them:

  • Any species MYO except Arma Caeli - obtained regularly from shops/events.
  • Any trait Item - obtained regularly from shops/events/dailies.
  • Reflection Sliver (ingredient) - events or by completing the repeatable "Reflection Rush" prompt.
  • Glitch item - Crafted using 2 reflection slivers, or via events. The recipe to craft it is unlocked via the one-time "Glitch me if you Can" prompt.

Glitching for glitch traits

You can use glitches to obtain glitch traits! Characters with a glitch trait can display features that their species usually does not have, dictated by the species listed in their glitch trait. This may look something like this character:

Uruka (Lopilu)
Pairing & Glitch: Glitch (Rare) (Demon)

  1. First, you will need the glitch page which can be found under your username -> characters and then glitches!
  2. Choose the main species Item. It will be the main species of your Glitch MYO slot. In the example above, this is a Lopilu slot.
    • The subtype of the main species is random, unless the MYO slot itself has one set. This is due to the roller needing to know the subtype in order to assign traits correctly. It also means you may get lucky and roll an equos infernalis from a regular equos MYO slot!
  3. Choose the glitch species Item. This species will be the one listed in your new glitch trait, and the one you can take features from to put on the main species. In the above example, this is a Demon slot.
  4. Add the glitch item.
  5. Create the Glitch MYO!
  6. The resulting MYO slot has a main species and glitch trait denoting its glitch species just like Uruka above!

Glitching for regular traits

You can use glitches to get use out of trait items you no longer need, by letting them roll onto a different trait of the same rarity - depending on the main species you pick! How does this work? Let's look at examples!

Glitching for species traits

Let's say you have a Vulpel Beastling MYO slot and want the uncommon exceptional tails trait. But you don't have it! Instead, you own a lop herb, which is an uncommon Lovabun trait item. You can use glitches to get a random uncommon trait for the beastling instead, by using the lop herb!

  1. First, you will need the glitch page which can be found under your username -> characters and then glitches!
  2. Choose the main species Item. It will be the main species of your Glitch MYO slot. As per example above, this will be your Vulpel Beastling MYO.
    • The subtype of the main species is random, unless the MYO slot itself has one set. This is due to the roller needing to know the subtype in order to assign traits correctly. It also means you may get lucky and roll an equos infernalis from a regular equos MYO slot! In this example, it will be Vulpel.
  3. Add trait items you wish to use for the glitch. In the example above, this is your lop herb!
  4. Add the glitch item.
  5. Create the Glitch MYO!
  6. The resulting MYO slot has a main species and will have one trait per added item from step 3. The resulting trait will always match the species from 1, and will be of the same rarity as the trait items you input in step 2. In this example, the Vulpel Beastling will have the exceptional tails trait, because it is the only uncommon vulpel trait available.

NOTE: there may still be issues with duplicate traits, eg. when adding two lop herbs)

Glitching for seasonal traits

Got some seasonal traits you don't quite feel, but like you like randomness? Then this is for you. You can use glitches to get a random seasonal trait for your glitch MYO, by adding any seasonal trait item!

  1. First, you will need the glitch page which can be found under your username -> characters and then glitches!
  2. Choose the main species Item. It will be the main species of your Glitch MYO slot.
    • The subtype of the main species is random, unless the MYO slot itself has one set. This is due to the roller needing to know the subtype in order to assign traits correctly. It also means you may get lucky and roll an equos infernalis from a regular equos MYO slot!
  3. Add seasonal trait items you wish to use for the glitch.
  4. Add the glitch item.
  5. Create the Glitch MYO!
  6. The resulting MYO slot has a main species and will have one random seasonal trait per seasonal trait item added in step 3.

NOTE: there may still be issues with duplicate traits, eg. when adding two seasonal traits)

Submitting your design

This works the same as with all MYO slots! Your glitch slot should have the species/subtype and potentially glitch or regular traits set, depending on your input items. When designing, you must follow these predefined values, but do not need to add on trait items for the traits already on the slot. You may of course add additional traits via items as normal.

Glitch trait design guidelines

For glitch traits, there are some additional guidelines to follow!

  • You can add up to 3 features of the glitch species onto your glitch MYO design, as long as the main species keeps all of its features.
    • For example, you could add dragon wings, horns and scales to a lovabun if it has a Glitch (Dragon) trait!
  • A glitch trait will not replace an existing species feature with another. Glitches only add on top of the creature they affect.
    • For example, this means a lovabun will always keep their bunny ears and tail/feet, but may have other features such as angel wings or feathers added to them.

Ideally when submitting a design with a glitch trait, please include a list of the features you used in the comment section, like so:

Glitch

  • Fish Scales
  • Hip Fins
If you are unsure what features a species can glitch onto others, check out the crossbreed guidelines for a detailed writeup! It lists every feature a species can pass on via glitch.
