Most companions can be purchased from the Companion Gardens for coin- but that is not the only way to get them. Also, did you know there are some special companions that you will not be able to get there? This guide will tell you all about ways to get regular and special companions.
Regular Companions
They can most commonly be purchased from the Companion Gardens, but they can also appear as a rare encounter on an adventure! While each adventure area has a higher chance of a certain type of companion to appear, sometimes you also find other types of companions there that fit the theme of the area.
- In the Wicked Woods, you will find mostly Fiend or Slime companions.
- At the Waterfront, you can find mostly Oceanic companions.
- In the Reflection, you can find Volt companions.
- In the Scorching Desert, you will mostly find Golem and Lavar companions.
- At the Mountainrange, you can find mostly Airborn and Spirit companions.
- In the Lush forest, you will mostly find Seedling and Airborn companions.
There is also a special prompt granting you a Lovely Companion Box with a choice of one out of the nine starting companions.
Special Companions
Some companions are limited to certain seasons or ways of acquisition.
Riftborn Companions
In the Reflection, you can find the elusive Riftborn companions. The chance of getting one of them is lower than getting a regular companion.
Seasonal Companions
Seasonal companions can be purchased at their respective seasonal shop for 10 of their elemental essence. Alternatively they sometimes can be encountered on adventures:
- On the Harvest fields, you may come across a Autumn exclusive companion.
- On Sunnyside Beach, you may come across a Summer exclusive companion.
- On the Blossom Path, you may come across a Spring exclusive companion.
- On the Snowy Trail, you may come across a Winter exclusive companion.
Valentines Companions
There are a couple of companions that are only available during Valentines day (and the rest of February). You will usually be gifted one of them on Valentines day, and can earn another via prompt!
- This includes: Cupio, Gleart
Mimapple
Mimapple is a special companion that mimics apples. Sometimes when growing apples, it could happen that you harvest one of them instead!
Cakei
Cakei is a companion that only appears at special occassions: Either for your birthday month, or for Cylunny's birthday!
