Dark Rituals | Magic is Magic

Stellamaris, very simply, didn't believe in dark magic. Not in the sense that it didn't exist, but in the sense that it was malicious. As far as Stellamaris was concerned, magic was magic- and it could be used in any assortment of ways that ranged from good to evil. When he heard that dark magic was being used to raise the dead, he genuinely didn't find any issue with it at first glance. Maybe he would have been a bit more opposed if they knew if the dead wanted to become undead, or perhaps if there was some grand calamity that was occurring thanks to the dark magic.

For now, though, he couldn't help but see this panic and drive to fight as a bit silly and overdramatized. He already had a poor taste in his mouth over those who were so stuck in their own ways that they refused to try and understand more unknown forms of magic- but after seeing some individuals try to fight undead fauns that just wanted to live their lives? Safe to say he wouldn't be on their side anytime soon. It helped that the equos did partake in dark magic himself from time to time. It didn't become his entire personality, but it was there.

When you partake in magic as a hobby, you take bits and pieces of different forms of magic into your studies. Of course, this also included dark magic. He used dark magic regularly, though not to the extent of raising the dead- even if he wanted to he was nowhere near that level of talent yet. The interest was always there, though. Something about being able to save someone that is beyond saving, to rescue them from the coils of death. The idea of being able to save someone like that is thrilling, even if most would frown upon it. 

You know, maybe he would try to raise the dead himself one day, just to make a point.
