Trick or Treat | What if the Baby likes Halloween?

There was a knock on his door, of course there was- as much as he could show himself as a grump and a priss, he still somehow had others wanting to be around him. The fact that the knocking only seemed to get louder when he ignored it certainly didn't help his mood. He just wanted to sit at home and work on his other activities. Halloween just wasn't for him, and that was okay. Besides, he had an egg to take care of still, and he couldn't go out gathering candy just to leave the armored egg to sit in his home alone. 

He once again tried to ignore it, instead focusing on the small sweater that he was knitting together. It was small, but then again it wasn't as if Stellamaris knew how dragon eggs hatched. For all he knew, it could hatch to the size of a fully grown dragon with complete thought and autonomy. Not likely, of course, but it didn't mean that he didn't worry about it. Would the dragon child even like childish activities? What about Halloween? He wasn't a fan, but what if the dragon was? He looked to the egg again, and heard another loud knock at the door. He sighed, lifting himself up from the chair and placing the egg into the little sling on his chest. 

When he opened the door, three young equos in little pirate costumes looked back at him. They were holding out empty bags, happily cheering 'trick or treat!' at the top of their little lungs. Stellamaris had a frown, but he felt his heart sting a little bit by the cuteness before him. When he looked up, he saw the young ones' parents, giving him a cheerful, but posh little wave. He sighed, grabbing a bag of candy that he had originally intended for himself. Because of that, it was some of the good stuff- high quality, really expensive chocolates. 

He placed two small bars into each of the bags, and one of them immediately cheered and turned around to their mom. "Mother, look! He gave us gourmet candy bars! Just like you and father have!" Stellamaris couldn't help but chuckle a little, turning to the remaining two. "That's right. But they're only for special Equos who I know will really appreciate them, so Don't go telling the whole neighborhood I have these, okay?" 

One of the children gave a little salute. "Sure thing, Mister! I hope you have a nice night!" And the final child nodded. "Yes, yes! Have a happy Halloween, Mister!" With that, both of them turned to run off to their parents, and Stellamaris closed the door. 

He looked down at the egg still attached to his chest. They didn't seem to react to any Halloween festivities, but something in Stellamaris' mind assured him that he was doing the right thing for it. He lightly pet the egg with his hand. He didn't like the holiday, but if his gut was telling him that participating would be good for the unhatched dragon egg, then he'd go ahead and do that.

Though... perhaps he should order some sort of last minute candy delivery... those high quality chocolates weren't going to last forever.
