Two snowmen

Time flies by as the girls relive their childhood memories. The match between Kiriko and Sasaki has been settled, with Sasaki claiming the victory because of her very fast-moving speed. When Kiriko just missed a step, the pink-haired girl takes the whole opportunity to create a giant snowball with a mix of solid ice and throw it with all her might into Kiriko's face. It's a game of fate since Sasaki used so much force on that attack that she lost balance. If this hit doesn't finish her enemy, she will fall to the ground, creating a lot of chances to be hit continuously without a rate to flip up. The lost girls with hot popcorn stopped breathing in a short moment of excitement. This is it, when the battle result will settle! The atmosphere was drenched in extremely dramatic reactions, even though it's not even a serious thing. All of the eyes were watching every millisecond of the two girls' motions when the snowball hit Kiriko's face, and they separated little by little. Tokuko and Tsukino seem unbothered; how did people get so excited just by watching a childish snow-throwing battle? But three seconds passed since Kiriko fell to the ground and lay still. Sasaki also bent over, almost falling; she took some more steps to regain balance. She panted and looked over to her opponent, who didn't stand up even after she got back on balance. One second of silence before the energetic girls, Yukari, Tamao (with her head bandaged), Hoshi, and Yukino burst into applause for the winner. They clapped their hands, shook Sasaki around, and slapped a handful of snow into her body. Kiriko got up a short minute later. She scratched her head while looking at the cheering crowd with a large question icon floating above her. That's when Tsukino stands up, walks past the winner and her friends to not bother them, and comes to rub the snow off Kiriko's body.

- It's getting cold; you two should have a warm bath to prevent catching a fever.

Tokuko follows behind her with a towel. She carelessly pushes other girls to the side to get to Sasaki, wraps it around her, ignoring her protests, and brings her into the house. After an hour of resting, the girls get up to cook a big lunch together. This is when Yukino shines as the chef of this team. She makes recommendations about which dishes they should or would like to prepare and taste while it's snowing outside. Then she assigns a role to everyone in making that dish. One taking the veggies from their garden or going out to buy some; one chopping the veggies; one boiling water and watching the timing; one stirring them up. They've had a cozy meal together of warm veggie soups and tender fried beef. If Tsukino hadn't stopped them and told them to rest after lunch or else it would be harmful, the group of playful girls would have been rushing outside again too early. Halfway through the meal, Yukino has recommended another activity to play in the snow: building snowman. Some more things to play or concepts of a nice game popped up, as almost everyone is feeling good by remembering back their childhood, their days of having fun and thinking about nothing. It heated the air and gave the girls unresistable excitement. They just can't wait to have some fun, and it's reasonable since the only things in their heads nowadays are stress and worries.

After half an hour of break, Hoshi, Yukino, Kiriko, Yukari, Tamao, and Sasaki got out into the cold again. Yashi, Tsukino, Kirifuren, and Tokuko stayed inside the house to watch. At first, Yukino wants to show everybody how to build a snowman the way that cartoons teach her: to roll up a ball of snow. But she doesn't know how to get a starting ball instead. She keeps shoveling her hair into the soft layer of snow on the ground, then lifting it up. They keep shattering down, no matter how hard she tries. Hoshi curiously asks:

- Hey Yukino, have you never built a snowman before?

The little catgirl looks up at her face, then puts on a pure smile.

- I didn't! When I was small, I didn't have time to try to build one, and my parents would not let me go out. After becoming a Warbot, my free time is even less! Playing outside in the snow is an unachievable thing for me. But now I can do so! Do you know how to make it?

Hoshi stares into Yukino's eyes. It's tragic for a young girl like this, who lost her childhood to the hands of adults who never understood. It's a moment of silence for the unlucky little girl; even Sasaki, the most arrogant one, doesn't say anything as a sign of showing empathy to her. But Yukino's look has never lost its pureness. After a minute, she said again:

- So, does anyone know how to build a snowman? I mean, a giant one! Just making small ones is not fun!

Tamao steps next to her, then picks up a hand full of snow. It's foamy and cold. She used it to form a circular block.

- It's simple! You can take small scoops, make them round, and put them near each other to make a steady start. Then you can stack them up and cover them by adding more snow. I guess.

She seems to be having trouble looking for words that can express what she wants to say. Yukino looks even more confused; her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to comprehend Tamao's instructions. After a moment, a glimmer of understanding crossed her face.

- So, we just keep stacking the snowballs on top of each other to make them bigger?

She asks tentatively. Tamao nods while guiding her to put the snow cover on, relieved that her explanation is finally getting through. Together, they begin rolling and lifting snowballs, their laughter filling the air as they embark on their mission to build the grandest snowman their neighborhood has ever seen. Yukari and Hoshi join them too; they had some jokes about Tamao's bulky description. Kiriko and Sasaki were staying aside; they seemed unpleased.

- Hey, are you going to let us just stand here?

Kiriko asks, as straigthly as she was, with no openings or formalities. Sasaki gave her a glance of scorn. Hoshi stopped rolling the snow and looked at them while scratching her head.

- Umm? I don't know. Why don't you come here and just build it?

- Nah, you idiot. If y'all keep surrounding the snowman like that, I will not have any place to stand. Got it?

Hoshi looks even more confused; this is none of her business, but still, it's too simple to ask. She pointed to a pile of snow nearby.

- You two can build one by yourself!

- Oh…

Kiriko seems to have been enlightened, staring at the second pile of snow. Sasaki gave the silly orange head some pats on the back. Just like she has foreseen or sensed this "competitive" nature from Kiriko, Tamao said to her while giggling.

- No winner or loser this time! Make it up for fun, and don't belligerently ramming at us.!

Yukino and Hoshi burst into laughter while Yukari started blushing. It's her who rammed Tamao's snowworks in the last funny fight.

- Boooooo! If it's not competitive, then it's no fun!

Kiriko insists, her hand on her hips and her face put up to the sky. Sasaki seems hopeless, but she's keeping her giggle from making sounds. Yukari started out confused, and then she's laughing too. Sasaki grabs Kiriko's long ponytail and pulls it while she says it in a grumpy tone.

- So when will we start building the snowman, huh? My queen, stop saying things and get to work!

Her sarcastic voice makes Kiriko mad. Does this little brat have any problems with her? But she just let it slide and put her anger into the snow scoops. She shoveled it up in a rush and shaped it roughly. Sasaki doesn't even bother to remind her friend. It's just a waste of time. She fixed them up by herself.

After an hour, two snowmen are done. They picked up pebbles and cracked some dry tree branches nearby to decorate the snowmen. Of course, Yukino's group has a much better-looking, smiling snowman with a crown made of little branches, while Kiriko's one looks angry with a sword of wood too. What a fine representation of her mood!

Kiriko catches even the most faint smile on Tamao's face when she looks at the grumpy snowman. She jokingly said it in anger.

- Hey! You said there's no competition, right? But you're clearly judging my snowman!

   Tamao tilts her head.

- At least we all tried, did we?
