What are Seasonal Traits?
Unlike species specific traits, which are available from uncommon to rare rarity all year, seasonal traits are only available in shops during a specific season for seasonal currency. They also affect any species, making them more versatile than regular traits!
Getting Seasonal Traits
- During their respective season they can be bought for seasonal currency in many shops! Simply look the item up on the item info page to find out where it is sold.
- All throughout the year, you can also cultivate these trait items yourself. This costs magic and can be quite expensive + more time consuming, but allows you to get any trait you need at any time! Note that cultivation is not yet fully updated, we ask for your patience!
- Sometimes during events, seasonal surprise gifts are given out.
Design Guidelines
Seasonal traits don't add new limbs or features to your character - instead, they affect either the characters body or their surroundings - sometimes both! We can categorize them as material or aura traits.
Material Traits
Material traits turn a characters existing limbs, or part of one, into a different material. This should never affect more than 50% of the characters main body (the main body consisting of head, torso, arms and legs). Limbs should roughly keep their original shape (wings must still be recognizable as wings, tails as tails, etc).
- Fluffy [Winter] - fur growth outside of what is normal for a species
- Melting [Summer] - melting limbs, or limbs made of wax/goo like material
- Mechanical [Autumn] - mechanical limbs made of any sort of metal (trait not needed for prosthetics)
- Zombified [Autumn] - tinted skin, zombie like scarring, visible bones, visible signs of decay (no heavy gore!)
- Translucent [Autumn] - body parts turning translucent, optional bones, objects can be inside (no organs!)
- Plushified [Winter] - body parts turning to plush/fabric material, stitches
Aura Traits
Auras consist of matter floating around the character rather than affecting its body.
- Thunderstruck [Summer] - electric charge / sparks around the character
- Smoke Cloaked [Winter] - cloudy, bellowing smoke around the character
- Bioluminicent [Spring] - glow around a characters limbs or markings
- Sparkling [Spring] - stars or sparkly aura around the character (trait not needed for stylistic little sparkles in art)
Material & Aura Traits
- Floral [Spring] - Plant growth, limbs made of wood, or flower/petal aura
- On Fire [Summer] - Limbs on fire, floating flames / fiery aura
- Spectral [Autumn] - Limbs turning into spectral/ghostly matter, or ghostly wisps around the character
- Earthen [Spring] - Body parts made of stone or clay like material, fragmented pieces, or floating rocks/stones/bits around the character
- Watery [Summer] - Liquid body parts or bubbles around the character
- Crystallized [Winter] - limbs turning into crystal or ice like material, or snowflake/icy aura
