Hooved Misadventures
Lavender could feel eyes on her at every turn, and it was starting to make her skin crawl. Wherever she had ended up, this realm most certainly was not her home, and the Equos Aeria felt as though she stuck out like a sore thumb. She was amazed that no one had stopped her yet–in fact, she wondered if they were too stunned to stop her. She wasn't certain that she wanted to test the theory by attempting to speak to anyone herself, either…even if it might answer her questions.
Though not helpful to the situation in the slightest, the purple-haired Equos found her mind wandering to her cousins: Obnoxious, prideful things that saw themselves above everyone else. Normally, Lavender played along for as long as she needed to, but she could only imagine what they'd say if they could see her now. So timid, where's your honor? Back straight, chin up, don't let them see a moment of weakness. What, are you going to cry? Such a softhearted, delicate little princess, aren't we? Can't even hold it together long enough to figure out where she is. Appalling. Whimpering under the onslaught of imagined cruelty, Lavender finally stopped. She made an attempt to calm herself, and when her breathing slowed down to manageable, the Equos Aeria finally scanned the buildings around her. Her gaze snagged on the sign on one shop relatively close by: Tranquil Travels Agency.
A travel agency…maybe someone there could tell her how she'd gotten there, or even how to get back home? It was the best option she had at the moment, and so she ruffled her wings slightly, attempted to square herself up, and then marched resolutely to the storefront. Immediately, she was startled by the ringing of a bell as she opened the door, and almost shied back out into the street, but the call of a friendly voice stopped her. "Hi there, welcome to Tranquil Travels! How can I help you today?" It was enough to convince Lavender to step fully inside the shop, and look around. It only took a moment before Lavender's eyes landed on a woman within, a pleasant smile on her face.
"I…I think I'm lost. One minute I was, well, home, and then the next I was here, and I don't know how I got here or how to get back. I don't even know where here is. Plus everywhere I go, people keep staring at me, and it's not like I don't get it, but it's making me really nervous. Speaking of which, how is it that so many people I’ve seen have legs so similar to mine, but long, fleshy ears instead of short, upright, fuzzy ears like mine?” The other woman seemed to stare at her with an expression Lavender could only describe as ‘polite, but overwhelmed,’ and she groaned. “I’m sorry, I talk a lot when I get really nervous.”
The other woman smiled a bit more warmly at that. “Well, I can tell you that ‘here’ is called Ihrutia. The people here are mostly what we call Faun, which…you don't seem to be. That should explain the ears, of only a little. I’m not quite certain how to answer the rest of your questions, but I'm sure answers can be found if you look in the right place, Miss…?"
Lavender contemplated for a moment, leaving the Faun–in awkward silence. "Venda," she said finally. "You can call me Venda. And thank you so much, Miss…?"
"Fuchsia," the Faun answered. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Venda."
"Likewise. Now I guess the question where do I start looking, huh?"
In which Lavender finds herself in Ihrutia without any idea how she got there.
