A Wish on the Fountain
A quiet sigh escaped Osiris’s lips as he slowly walked towards the Fountain. He traveled to Meadowing with his companion, Pelias, to make a wish and during their journey, he had time to reflect on his reasoning for wanting to make a wish and he knew that Pelias had picked up on his silent mood. He’d been doing great in life, he was a Shaman and doing well for himself but as the years passed, Osiris couldn’t help but feel a little bit lonely.
Sure, Pelias was a great companion and good company but Osiris wanted to find someone to make a connection with. Someone he could find himself falling in love with and spending the rest of their lives together, and if they wanted the same thing as him, someone to have children with. A clicking noise from Pelias drew him out of his thoughts and Osiris realized that he’d stopped moving.
A soft exhale pushed past his lips as he took in the sights of the Fountain. The trees around it were in bloom and the blooms that were floating on the water were a soft shade of pink, seeming to dance along the water as the breeze ruffled the leaves in the trees and lightly brushed the surface of the water. Closing his golden eyes, he drew in a breath and he swore he could feel the magic of the area lightly dance across his skin as he stood there in silence.
Reopening his eyes, Osiris slowly made his way to the small lake’s edge then carefully knelt down at the edge of the Fountain, gazing at his reflection in the crystalline blue waters. Licking his lips, he carefully thought about how to word what he wanted to say then he cast a glance over his shoulder at Pelias, chuckling lowly when he noticed that his Geodo friend was running about as flower petals blew about in the breeze, trying his best to catch a few of them in his stone beak.
Osiris turned his attention back to the water in front of him then exhaled; better get to it.
“Oh great Fountain. I come to you with a wish. I’ve been lonely as of late and...I wish to find the one that would be willing to share the rest of their life with me. One who would be willing to get married sometime down the line and start a family with me.” Osiris spoke gently and clearly.
The wind blew across the water, sending the blooms dancing across the surface and the air ruffled his long, brown and blue colored hair. Closing his eyes, he heard the leaves rustle in the trees and his ears twitched slightly at the gentle rustling sound and he knelt there for a few moments before he slowly got to his feet and gazed at the Fountain with a soft, thoughtful smile gracing his lips. He truly hoped that his wish was heard. And would be granted.
