Sand, my Beloathed <3
This was not only the brightest place he had ever been, and very hot. But this was the most sand he will ever witness in his life, ever. He thought the beach was sandy…
Ugh.
Onni fixed his shades, and a special cloak that was made to keep him from being toasted. As kind as the gifted cloak was from the delegate he fought, Sandfall was horrid and Onni decided he hated it. It was not like his city that was lit by lights and martial law, no, it was a victim of the unavoidable sun and the law of bones. Onni was sure he would like the last part if it wasn't so hot and bright and-he fell on his face. Not having noticed the jutting stone and the glare given to said stone would've made a dragon crumble.
Yup. Sandfall was shit.
But Onni was not gonna say that to the lady who invited him, because so far he earned her respect but that only went so far if you go insulting someone's home.
Onni wasn't living on that much of an edge.
“So… How much longer until we get to the digging spot? You wanted me and my team there to inspect it right?”
The saurian nodded. “There was an odd material in the cavern area, and it seemed abandoned for ages. However it wasn't made by saurian hands, since your medics and military are known to get around…”
Onni nodded. He knew one of the big bosses had taken an interest in this, and since it was on friendly soil (so far. Onni really wanted it to stay that way to be frank), meaning they could look into it discreetly. But Onni wanted to go back to a clean hospital with much less sand. Thank you very much.
It was even in his fucking pants how in the heck….
Onni sighed and masked it with a yawn.
“Already need a nap thanks to the heat? Don't worry, it'll only be fifteen more minutes. You can't see the opening from here thanks to the heat, but I can promise it'll be cooler inside.”
Onni nodded, relieved. “That is good news, thank you. The heat is very tiring, I don't see how you can take it.”
The delegate looked proud. “Isn't it obvious? We adapted, our scales helping reflect the waves. We made shelters, and grew. Just as your kind did with its mazes and your glow.”
She was so proud… Now he felt like an ass.
“I see… That is an accomplishment, I hope you can continue to be proud. Not everyone can adapt so easily.” He meant it.
She only grinned, glowing with pride.
It made Onni smile just so…
Nobody told him he was steps away from the entrance… and there was a slope that acted like a sandy slide into it.
Onni hated sand… And he was gonna hate that the most.
Sand is horrid and awful and gets everywhere.
