Crowns for Eggs
Onni is so excited!
Really, it was impulsive. However, Onni was more than happy with this impulse.
On a soft, plush bed he got from someone in the club was two small eggs. A skound named Brutus and a spidel named Gleam. Beside the bed was flowers. Lots of them, and a plan. Onni picked up one, something like a clover that was purple and pink. Onni started to make a crown, well, tried to. Despite his talent for healing Onni was quite slow at looping the flowers. It was a little sad, but he would try! The eggs had to know they were loved. So, Onni took his time. Breaking many stems in the process. No matter, he would simply press them or ask a friend to make resin pendants to preserve them. Maybe put the pendants on matching collars for him and the little guys when they hatch? Something that can be put on bigger collars so they can grow with them. But that would be when they hatch. Onni was trying to be patient, couldn't rush perfection or love after all.
So, while Brutus and Gleam took their time Onni weaved the flowers. Moving on from clover like to poppy.
Poppies being one of his favorites. So, Onni poked them through the crown. Purple and red... Hah. Isn't that familiar? Then he moved on to some blue peonies... This was going to be a kick ass crown. But once he was done Onni realized he had a lot of flowers left. Really, floral wasn't his style but... He could work with this.
Putting the two crowns upon the eggs and making sure they were snug in the blankets Onni looked at a hobby book he found secondhand. Flipping through he came on a section for flowers.
"Flower pressing...?" Okay, he could figure that out. Dry them out, spray with hairspray to preserve them... Would putting them in a microwave dry them faster or did he have to leave them to the sun? Hm. Okay maybe he could try both? He had plenty. Then there was a knock at the door and Onni frowned. It was his off day who could that be...? Onni got up to check the door and peek through the peephole.
-----
Onni was once again making floral decor, putting dry petals into a glass vase with some marbles. It would have to be put somewhere high up, so Brutus doesn't knock it over on accident but adding a few lights made Onni happy with his decision. It stood out for sure in the drab, slightly messy apartment. While it was not very organized, colorful, then there was this antique glass vase with petals, marbles, and lights. It added a bit of magic to the apartment. Onni nodded in approval.
He hoped Brutus and Gleam would feel the same.
