Christmas Gifting

Makenna hummed along with the music playing on her radio, her fox tail swishing to the beat as she carefully plopped mini marshmallows in the mugs of hot chocolate sitting on her serving tray. Once she had the marshmallows in the mug, she stashed away the bag then carefully grabbed the tray and made her way to the living room where her friends Rhapsody and Lisette were sitting and chatting away on her couch.

“Hot chocolate!” Makenna grinned, carefully setting the tray down onto the coffee table in front of her fireplace.

“Oooh! Thanks Kenna.” Rhapsody grinned, her bat wings fluttering a little excitedly. Lisette carefully shifted forward and picked up her mug, taking a sip of the hot beverage and let out a content sigh at the feeling of warmth from the drink.

“So, who’s ready to open gifts?” Makenna asked with an excited grin.

“I am!” Rhapsody said.

“Me too.” Lisette agreed.

A grin crossed her face so Makenna lightly bounced over to her tree and picked up the gifts she’d gotten for her friends and divided them between the two girls then took a seat on the floor, sitting cross-legged as she watched them open their gifts, feeling like an excited little kid.

“Ooh! I love this dress so much, thank you Makenna!” Rhapsody gushed, looking over the purple and black tartan dress before she carefully folded it back and shot a grin to her friend.

“I thought you’d love it.” Makenna grinned.

Lisette smiled at Rhapsody’s excitement over the new dress that their friend had gotten her then she turned her attention to the gift she’d picked up and she opened it quickly then let out a gasp. Moving the torn paper off it, Lisette picked up the sketchbook in her hands and looked it over, noticing where it was inscribed with ‘Makeup Ideas’ on the front then she looked at her friend across from her.

“Thank you so much, Kenna!” Lisette said.

“I thought you’d appreciate a sketchbook to draw out your makeup ideas when you’re on the go or just sitting around your place. That way you don’t lose the idea you have.” Makenna commented.

“Now I’ll never forget any idea. Thanks again.” Lisette smiled. The duo on the couch opened their gifts and expressed their excitement for each and every gift and once they’d opened their own gifts from Makenna, they both got up and grabbed the gifts that they’d gotten for their fox friend and placed them down in front of her.

“Oooh! Thanks for the new heels.” Makenna grinned, looking over the red and black high heels that Rhapsody had gifted her.

“Thought you’d appreciate some new heels.” Rhapsody grinned. Makenna went through each and every gift and gushed excitedly over each one, squealing with excitement over specific gifts which prompted the other two girls to laugh at how excited she got but honestly, they couldn’t really blame her over her excitement. They felt just as excited as she did.

After she’d opened her gifts, Lisette and Rhapsody exchanged their gifts to each other and Makenna watched her two friends closely, hoping that this Christmas would be the time that the duo admitted just how they felt about each other but if not, she still held out great hope for the two of them getting together.

Oh...Lis, this necklace is so pretty.” Rhapsody said softly, lifting the crescent moon shaped necklace from the box it was in.

“I remembered your moon tat and thought you’d like a necklace that matched it.” Lisette smiled. A small smile crossed Rhapsody’s face at her comment then she unclasped it and immediately clasped it around her neck, the moon charm falling to settle just below her collarbones.

“Thank you, I love it.” Rhapsody hummed.

Lisette smiled then she turned her attention to her last gift and opened it, her eyes widening slightly at the box in her lap so she opened it and let out an excited giggle at the sight of brand new makeup in the box.

“You were saying you needed new makeup so I figured you’d appreciate it.” Rhapsody said.

“I love it so much! Thank you! This will absolutely come in handy.” Lisette grinned.

“Now that all the gifts are open, let’s bundle up and go play in the snow!” Makenna grinned. Nodding in agreement the other two girls carefully put their gifts down then the trio hurried to go bundle up then they rushed outside to go and play around in the snow.
