Harvest Time
Letting out a soft sigh, Shion straightened up and wiped sweat from her brow then looked around at the baskets of crops that she’d harvested from her garden. A smile crossed her face as she knew that she’d have plenty for herself and more for either trading to other Lops or some for selling.
Dusting her hands off, Shion bounded over to the small altar that was at the base of one of the trees on her home and placed a few vegetables from her harvest into the small bowl on the altar. She lit the two small candles to the back of the altar then carefully knelt in front of the altar.
“Thank you, Basil for the bountiful harvest. It was very much needed and is very much appreciated. I will be able to feed myself and help feed others in need of food whether it’s through trade or selling.” Shion said softly.
A soft breeze blew, ruffling her short hair and a small smile crossed her face, Shion believing that her thanks were received by the founder of Meadowing. Carefully getting to her feet, Shion headed to her home to clean up and change clothes before she headed into town to take part of her harvest with her for trades or sell.
After taking a quick bath and changing into a soft, flowy dress, Shion replaced the flowers in her hair that had either gotten torn or had half fallen out during her harvest. Satisfied with the new flowers in her hair, Shion headed back outside and brought three of the six baskets into her home for herself and settled them onto the table in her kitchen.
Once placed, she headed out one more time then closed the door of her home behind her then carefully gathered up the remaining three baskets and slowly made her way into town. Walking slowly to make sure she didn’t lose any of her harvest, Shion was able to appreciate the world around her and smiled at the sight of Redwood travelers coming into the village and she hoped to trade some vegetables with them if they had something they were hoping to trade.
Reaching the village, Shion walked around, pausing when someone called to her and allowed them to take what they needed from her baskets and accepted either the coins where they purchased vegetables or the small bundles of cloth they offered for trade and she knew that those would come in handy for creating new clothes or a new bag for when she went traveling.
Once her baskets were empty, Shion gifted one of the three to someone who needed a new one as their old one broke from their own harvest then she started making her way home, her trading and selling having been a success.
